I am officially on the hook as I have officially signed and paid the partial fee for the October 2026 Ironman California. The rest of the fees will be taken care if in a few spaced out payments.
I am filled with a mixture of excitement and trepidation, but it is one of several events that I want to stare down to take on head first this next year as proof to myself that nothing is truly out of reach. That I am not past the point of taking on amazing and accomplishing amazing feats. Even ones that seem bigger or more impossible than I ever imagined.
With the time that it will take me to properly train for this undertaking the two options for an Ironman around this time next year the location options were either Florida and California. Fuck Florida with a thousand fucks and so I chose California. It will be a river swim as opposed to an ocean swim with a mostly flat bike and run course.
Now to start the training…
